It was built by an ancient Nabataean Arab tribe that disappeared with time and left this stone-carved city known as their second capital. Untouched for hundreds of years, now it is open and easily accessible to the public.
.
The Nabataeans have become one of the most successful commercial societies in the Middle East. They built an impressive trade empire in the heart of Arabia. They exported to India and China many goods such as henna, cloth, silk, gold, and silver. They were also responsible for the transfer of ideas and inventions between the great eastern and western civilizations - the ancient prototype of Pinterest :)

It helps me keep track and analyze what I did and what could be done better. This time, except for regular resolutions, I added the new category. In 2022 I wish myself:โ€ขFollow your inner child. Don't kill it. And don't let anyone kill it too. Collect the small moments which make you feel happy. Wear two different socks if you like to. Watch cartoons. Walk barefoot, and don't listen to anyone who says it's bad for you. If you are not happy with yourself, no one will make you happy either.โ€ขListen more than talk. Don't give advice when you are not asked to. But set your boundaries for listening to others' problems if you feel they overwhelm you. Don't sacrifice your inner peace to make someone feel better.โ€ขSay no and make boundaries without feeling guilty or giving explanations.โ€ขLet go of always having to win. Or having the last word. No one will ever remember that you won every argument.โ€ขRead more. Study more. Crave knowledge. Make self-development your priority. No one will take it from you, and if the change comes, you will be ready to face it.
.
In 2022, I wish you all to find your own definition of happiness and make it real ๐ŸŒ

I decided to switch the aircraft to a scooter. Or a broom. Or a bike ๐Ÿ˜…

Ok, jokes apart. Some of you have already noticed that I added an "ex" to the "cabin crew" part of my BIO. Yes, it's true. Since October, I am no longer a flight attendant. It took me a bit to make this decision. I know it's not yet a complete 'goodbye.' I will freelance from time to time to feel the spark again, but you can already congratulate me. In aviation, we always do when retired ๐Ÿ˜‰

Saudi Arabia is home to one of the finest coffee in the world, called Khawlani.
.
Most of the coffee production is concentrated in the Jizan region, Southern province of Saudi Arabia.
Is it produced traditionally, keeping the nation's cultural identity.
The process is long and natural and requires a lot of attention and care. Coffee farms are held by families and are passed on from generation to generation.
.
I had the great pleasure of staying in one of the farms in the middle of Jizani mountains. Literally in the middle, as there is no regular road to get there. We had to be picked by our hosts with their 4x4, and it was one of the most intensive 4x4 journeys in my life ๐Ÿ™‚
Saleh and his brother Faisal @sout_alrith showed us the whole process of making coffee, from planting the seeds to picking the fruits. We also have spent the night by the fire under the stars, trying all the kinds of coffee, making it an incredible experience ๐ŸŒ

As an expact woman with blond hair, which makes me look a bit exotic, I face it a lot. So many people are nice and politely ask me if they can take a picture with me. Some of them think they are smart and I don't see the phone pointing at my face, or sometimes just legs. When I got my driving license as one of the first women in the country, I had so many drivers chasing me or taking snaps on the traffic lights. It usually happens when I'm in the uniform or walking without an abaya (always covered appropriately).
.
Usually, I ignore it as I come from a different culture, and I'm not bothered that much, but I still believe it invades someone's privacy. In Saudi, it's also considered disrespectful, especially for a woman.
.
Recently I had this situation while going to work. The guy was so obviously filming me that I had to react. I asked him if he had taken a picture of me and knew that this was not allowed. He denied obviously, but unluckily for him, behind me was a military security man who took my stand. They got into an argument, but it ended up fine, and he had no trouble. I didn't have to react, but at least I gave him the lesson. Though the next time, it could be a Saudi girl who feels harassed or another expact woman who is too shy to talk about it.
.
We have to remember that what is considered in our country as OK doesn't mean it is acceptable in another one. Also, if you have to follow the rules, apply them to everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š

I made a list of 17 things to do during my covid isolation. Well, I completed 2 of them. On the other hand, I feel like I have reached the end of the Internet and Netflix. And I regret nothing โœŒ

When I came to Cleveland first time this year, I was happy to travel to the US. I had a feeling that it might be my last long trip before some changes come. Two weeks later, I came here again, not that excited anymore, but work is work, and it has to be done. This time will be for sure my last days in Cleveland as I don't think I will come here as a tourist again. Three days turned out to be two weeks of a great time, adventuring, discovering places, and meeting incredible people. When I found out that I am going there for the third time, I was more like ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ But I was sure that it would be a super short layover, and nothing surprising will happen to me. Well. Here we are, it's August, and I still did not finish my story with Cleveland. For sure, this city will stay in my mind, heart (and lungs) for longer than expected ๐Ÿ˜…
